Exhibit of the Day: The First Moldovan Satellite
Exhibit of the Day: The First Moldovan Satellite
EXHIBIT OF THE DAY
October 18, 2025, Technical University of Moldova.
A few weeks ago, on October 4, planet Earth commemorated the first artificial satellite launched by humans into orbit. That was in the last century, 68 years ago.
And in this century, a number of years ago, the first Moldovan satellite, developed and assembled in our Polytechnic, was launched into orbit.
Today we were shown the first "test shot" photograph of this satellite, taken from Chișinău on a clear night. The lens captured the Moon, located at a distance of 300 thousand kilometers, quite clearly, even though its precision was designed for half a kilometer.
Very heavy prototypes, the internal casing is made from a substantial metal sheet. As for the electronic components - a green microchip, one of many.
Currently, two new models are being developed by university students. Already with a different design and greater functionality than the first one.
We sincerely wish them success!
The mission is possible!
