Elena Radu on Human Values and the Reboot of Moldova

Elena Radu explains the fundamental role of human values in society, connects them to the Republic of Moldova's Reset Plan, and speaks about the importance of preserving the inner cultural core.

– Ms. Radu, let's start with a simple question: what are human values?

– That is indeed a simple question, yet one that is very difficult to answer because it is fundamental, and therefore philosophical at its core. Without human values, nothing can exist – humanity cannot form as a society; a person is disoriented if they have no values. They are the cornerstone of any socio-cultural system and the world order as a whole. As I said before, we are currently in a period of shaking foundations and values, and here is a clear demonstration of it – everywhere you look, there are mirrorings and distortions of the familiar, where a minus is presented as a plus, where black is said to be white and vice versa. The confusion of landmarks, the establishment of new ones, and universal turbulence are characteristic signs of such a period. The plus of such a period is that its crucible reveals what is genuine in people.

...let's return to values. In our recent interview as part of the Republic of Moldova Reboot Plan outlined by our "Alpha Institute of Strategic Branding" (abbreviated: INBRASA), understanding the importance of values for building society and the future of our country, we emphasized them alongside economic focus points. Without them, it is impossible to qualitatively rethink our reality, correctly adjust consciousness and actions, and reboot our country. If we do not define human values as a guide and a beacon – we have no future. And if we do not adhere to them, the result will be the same – regression. And a protracted period of upheaval...

Moreover, the values we have outlined are not complicated at all. Like inscriptions on tablets (smiles). For, as is known, the simpler, the better. After all, genius is simple. In general, we have outlined them for ourselves and for everyone... and propose finding them within, not losing them, and adhering to them. They are the internal tuning fork and that cultural core which from now on connect, form, and bind our entire society and state structure. That is, if we do not want to find ourselves on the sidelines of history, of course.
